What you're making
An obby (an obstacle course) is platforms, hazards and checkpoints. Prism Peak already has seven stages. You'll add an eighth.
1. Play it first
Press Play and get to the orange sweeper. Fall off on purpose. You come back to the last checkpoint pad you touched, not to the start. That's the whole trick.
2. Look inside
Press Stop. In Your world, open Prism Peak and click on:
- a checkpoint pad (the glowing ones at the start of each stage)
- a red lava bar
- the blue drifting platform. In Properties it has Axis, Amp and Period: which way, how far, how long one trip takes.
3. Build stage eight
Find the golden finish pad. Build next to it:
- Platforms. Add a part, make it flat and wide, then duplicate it (Ctrl+D) and drag the copy. A standing jump reaches about 6 studs.
- A checkpoint. Duplicate any checkpoint pad and put it at the start of your stage.
- A hazard. Duplicate a red lava bar. Touch it and you go back to your checkpoint.
- Something that moves. Duplicate the blue platform and change its Amp.
Press Play after every step.
4. Playtest
Swap with a neighbour. Watch them play your stage without helping. Where did they fall? Fix one thing.
Done when
- Your stage has a checkpoint, a hazard and a moving part.
- You can finish it.
- Someone else can finish it.
